I keep looking, for something to sustain me, encourage me and keep me going. The going was going to get tough and it has – the tough is among us… I pray for freedom for us, because it’s becoming tough.
It’s now about a year to the elections and citizens have been locked in since 2023. It’s a deep love for our country that formed, a deep love for self, refusing to be taken advantage of so blatently once again.

Yet now, everyone is in a foul mood because we all understand what a mistake this presidency is. It’s too much, it’s too corrupt. It’s worse corruption than the country has previously seen – on a larger scale, deeper into our pockets. Dreams are being shattered, many are scaling down. No one has trust in the institutions that supposedly hold together our country. Kenya is falling apart right before everyone’s eyes.
The uncovering.
There is barely any hope left for the future. Jobs are scarce, international relations are shot to shit, corporate is too costly. The world at large is falling apart and our country is going down with it. No one is sure whether they can do another 5 years of this. . . but six million ghost voters have already appeared with enhanced registering of voters. Media headlines are only eating this up, becoming more triggering and polarising. Big corruption numbers printed out in red or in blue next to pictures of men in suits. Where do we look? Where do we look as parties are benefitting off of individuals registering to be elected.
It’s all heavy right now. The corruption. The theft. The pain. The politics.

Can we handle what is going on? Blame is a waste of time, we’re four years from the past election – how do we stop the forgetting, as Kenyans? Older millenials refusing to vote during the upcoming election that will become the turning point of our nation.
The arts and music silenced or complacent with out sneakerhead president – each president more into the culture and more corrupt than the last.

It’s heavy hopelessness, exhaustion. It’s heavy emotions. It’s waking up and going to work knowing that the taxes on everything are being pocketed. It’s threats from a murderous police state that gives a quiet, zombie-like, nation. It’s Kenya being good friends with the USA and Israel as they contribute to the problems in the world. America sneezed, Israel coughed, Kenya has COVID. It’s the troops who have finally returned from a war, but the salary is lacking – it’s all in a single wallet. It’s the price of commodities and goods doubling and tripling each week. It’s farmers being hit first and hardest by the president who understood agriculture. It’s the youth exhausted from the war against the man, the machine. It’s the most corrupt regime in power.
It’s the need for new, fresh leaders. It’s 2026 being half way gone and the elections being halfway close.

It’s Kenya today.
