Choices [working title]

Life sometimes, asks us to make decisions. We don’t always get that part right. We sometimes make some decisions that we would prefer not to have made especially when the decision has been made, time has passed and the consequences are with us.
Sometimes, we don’t have a choice but to choose what we must do in the moment . . .

. . . adapt, evolve, fight.

. . . grow, wait, breathe.

And sometimes, you will find that you have a choice.
And the choice doesn’t have consequences that you might think evil, or that seem evil.
Either way you swing, you’ll be gucci and the sun will keep shining.

But sometimes, life asks us to make a difficult choice.

To choose between glory or preservation.
A choice between adventure and rootedness. |
To choose between the beauty of the ocean or the beauty of the mountain.
A choice between the warmth of the sun or the comfort of the rain.
To choose between the advancement of society or the wisdom of the ancients.

choose
softness.

There’s a reason the world we live in is so broken.
At some point, the savagery of humankind was the leading force on the journey forward.
To cut at the branches as you moved through the thick forest
in search of the treasure that had your name on the treasure chest.
Man made their way through nature, clearing a path that would only be used once . . .
and for one reason only,
to get the gold.

There’s a reason why the world is so broken.
Because the hardness of men and women laid the foundation for what we now know as civilisation
as broken as this civilisation is.

There’s a reason why we, the world, are so broken.
Because we have yet to see the gentle wind as a guide.

Butterflies flicker at dusk,
to go wherever butterflies go to sleep.

It goes against everything that is screaming at you right now.
But you have yet to see the success of soft power.
Knowing that the gentle wind, with its gentle touch
can change the course of mankind.
That the moment before the blow lands,
you, I, we,
have a moment
just a moment
to change the reaction we are about to give.

The pillars we sit on were built by the forces of force and fight in a search for power.
They only seem stronger now because many choose this force of force and fight in search of power.
Knowing what violence and anger brings,
what the ‘screw everybody’ attitude can do and damage.
what the stewing and brewing pain can conjure up.
what the continuous knocking and banging can bring forth,

i say, choose the gentle way.

The hardest parts of us are needed for survival.
The gentlest parts of us are needed for evolution.

Your kindest parts shine, always. . .
I see them.
Can you?
